Gawd, I cant believe you did not give a 5 to this all along. I really dont get this constant grumbling - This movie was not as path breaking as the earlier ones. Of course dude, this is a part of the story, the scene has already been set, and this movie is supposed to provide a finale to the proceedings and it did. Quite fittingly. For once the Matrix moved away from breathtaking special effects to concentrate on ideas and logic and people lost interest in it? The first one introduced you to a plot, the second one quickly blew you towards an awesome ending, and the revolutions ended it. Perfectly. If you have not seen the earlier two, dont bother to see this one, it would seem like a bruce lee movie. If you have not bothered to understand the earlier two, again, dont bother with this one. You will not get it anyways.
This is it. This is what it was all about - a trilogy of films that created a cult following comparable to that of George Lucas' Star Wars series.
Yes, everything that has a beginning must have an end - unless you are talking of the 'Die Hard' sequels, of course. But in this case, all except the most ardent Matrix followers - those who have spent the last four years eating, living and sleeping Matrix - would feel a little cheated. What about those who missed the earlier films? Sorry folks, if the first two could not get you to drag your butt to the nearest theater, this one sure as hel....
