I saw the original Warrior,liked it and went to this movie to see what our guys do to ot...and they messed it up. 1.MMA rulebook is thrown out of the book during the fights 2.Cringeworthy names like GAMA,LUCA to the fighters 3.Warrior's elder brother made us cheer for his as he was the under dog.Akshay Kumar,with his stubble, tattoos and penchant for breaking limbs made it hard to cheer for him. 4,Malhotra looks and acts like a bad ass. 5.Too much melodrama...maybe to "Bollywoodify" the movie made it unbearable to watch
From the days of unapologetic/blatant copying of Hollywood films to acquiring rights to an official remake, Hindi movies have come a long way. What has not changed, though, is the inability to not make a mess of it. Brothers, directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar (or Dharma Productions), is a Hindi remake of the very popular Warrior, by Gavin O'Connor. Like the original, Brothers, too, has its share of masala and mayhem, but loses track of itself pretty early on in the movie.
