The Imitation Game

Great men generally lead turbulent lives. The very ingredients of their eminence stand as barriers to something the rest of us take for granted - life as usual. But then, as those who get more than their share of "normalcy", we, the audience, are drawn to exactly these departures from a state of normalcy that these tragic heroes too crave but cannot achieve by virtue of their very natures. We derive vicarious enjoyment from gratuitous portrayals of their troubles and toils. We laud them and fete them, and turn them into icons until they bear little resemblance to the socially cooperative creat....
