If you are looking for a specific kind of film to watch, well, Chintamani isn't the one. This is one of those that don't fit into any genre. It belongs to that particular category of innovative films whose makers start off trying to create a new kind of cinema, lose heart/confidence/patience in between after belatedly realizing that there's such a thing as economics, and throw in a lot of soft porn as a value-added benefit for the viewer, so as to insure themselves against disastrous collections and irate producers.

The movie is set in an odd little hamlet - ....
