An elderly gentleman, Srimannarayana, has a bizarre request for a stranger, Sambamurthy, who he meets at the temple. Srimannarayana wants the latter to perform his last rites when he dies. Sambamurthy is shocked at first, but the two men eventually share a deep and everlasting bond.
