Rudrama Devi has a decent story line and could've been much better than the final product served to the public. I thought there were just too many characters and the film drifted all over the place. Anushka and Allu Arjun were outstanding with the latter once again showcasing that he's one of the few big league actors who can actually "act". The sword fights and battle scenes could've been epic but ended up being sorely disappointing. A 1 time watch which (story wise) had far more potential than Baahubali.
Consider this scenario – an entire kingdom is praying for a male child to be born to the king. A girl is instead born, and the king and the minister decide to conceal this fact from the general populace. They announce that a boy was indeed born, and bring up the child in a forest training camp as a boy for 14 years. Once the prince/princess returns, it does not take long for her to realise that she's a she and not a he.
How momentous should that discovery be? In Rudrama Devi, it is passed off in a jiffy. The princess decides that she will continue acting as a prince until the....
