One has to hand it to these C-grade moviemakers. When they make a serious thriller, you laugh your rockers off. And when they actually attempt a comedy, you simply throw up. Calling this flick gross and disgusting would be an understatement. Its maker has to be a deranged pervert. And assuming that, you have to admit he's outdone himself.
The story starts in a holiday resort in uptown Ohio, whose main attraction is this huge, Olympic-size swimming pool, right in its heart. And when this water one day suddenly develops a unique property of making anyone swimming in it incredibly horny - all hell breaks loose.
A newly wedded couple, a musician and a family of four, including teenaged children, are the current guests of the resort. They, along with the foxy hotel staff, go into an extended orgy, and bizarre pairings make for, what the makers think, unthinkably hilarious sequences. Unthinkable, true, but not in the least funny. In fact, the only reason you do not throw up is the fact that our censors (thankfully, for a change) have not allowed much of the orgy on screen.
The humor then is utterly corny, and fit only for the sense of humor of a pervert. And along with scenes like the son making it with the father and newly weds making it out right next to each other, but with other partners, you end up seething with indignation. And that includes even the most perverse of moviegoers. The comedy certainly is acutely missing from the entire flick.
Little wonder then that a small cheer went up among the audience when a freak accident, which is totally ignored by the characters, blows up the whole resort and its pool of desire.
There seems to a serious drought of ideas in the Hollywood C-grade movies. For
once we can say that someone has much to learn from our Indian moviemakers, whose
C-grade stuff maybe lots of other things, but is a lot more imaginative. Whether
Hollywood aping from Bollywood becomes a reality, only time can tell; but while
that is happening, avoid this one like the plague.
