I am one of those people who chose to believe that Gautham Menon actually wanted to go with the endings of Gharshana and YMC but chose to cater to the Tamil audience with a sad ending. I usually like films with saccharine endings unless [SPOILER ALERT] it's something like a Guatham Tinnanuri film, where a happy ending would betray the rest of the film.
Still felt there was potential for [SPOILER ALERT] Sharwa to end up with Varsha Bollamma. Don't know why the director shut that option down completely with Sam lying to her.
