Young (twenty-something) love stories in cinema are rare these days. The last truly remarkable one was the 2016 Marathi film Sairat. Band Melam is one of those, but while the film does focus on a boy and a girl, it sadly lacks the madness and emotional upheaval expected from such narratives.
