Renamed and sold as Sheeba - The Warrior Princess, this movie is an ancient fantasy tale. Though there is no scantily clad Sheeba to draw attention (though the posters promise as much), the movie is rather fascinating in its own right. A little history (rather mixed up, though), some myth, and lots of fantasy, with barbarian crusaders and damsels in distress thrown in. It reminds you of all those old movies based on fairy tales and legends. Well, this is one of them.
The movie starts off with Cromwell, presumably the same famous Oliver Cromwell. But here he is shown overthrowing King Richard, whereas he actually overthrew King Charles. And King Richard is shown to be a kind soul, whereas King Charles was something of a despot. And the climax of the movie has Cromwell being overthrown by rebels, and the successor is a guy called Charles. Again this is in contradiction to history. But apart from these glitches the film is rather interesting.
King Richard is captured and slain by Cromwell. Cromwell takes the help of a sorceror, whom he later stabs treacherously. But the sorcerer throws himself into the sea and escapes. Richard's entire family is executed, but his son, a guy called Zusha, escapes. Later he grows into an adventurer and barbarian called Talon, whose sword is for hire for any just cause.
Talon finally arrives at Cromwell's capital to avenge his father's death. Here he finds a rebellion brewing. He helps the rebels, rescues fair damsels, kills Cromwell and the sorcerer too for good measure, and then moves on to other adventures (presumably told in a sequel).
This is one fun movie that would have been great for kids had it not been for excess violence and some nudity, apart from the fact that it is being sold locally as a soft-porn film.
