This movie has one hell of a complex plot! So complex that you'd be desperate to catch a good ol' simple Bollywood movie. And to top it all, it has an unintended (on the makers' part) surprise ending, which I don't think anyone has ever encountered earlier. Well, I'll deal with the surprise at the proper time.
Jason Germaine (David Warner) is a rich businessman with a young and beautiful wife, Julia (Barbara Carrera), but they have trouble getting along. They live in a palatial house with a housekeeper, Maggie (Louise Fletcher).
Suddenly, one day, the long lost son of Maggie, Todd Martin (Johnny La Spada), comes back. We learn that Maggie had given him off to an orphanage as soon as he was born because she was an unwed mother. Now, Todd comes with his girlfriend, Mindy (Jamie Luner). She starts feeling jealous about the fact that Todd is spending more time with his mother than with her. They start having fights over this issue.
In the meantime, Julia, along with Micheal, a police officer, hatches a plot to kill Jason, using a hired killer posing as a robber (is that supposed to be a joke). The plan backfires and Jason escapes with a bullet wound. And the result is that Micheal's colleague starts suspecting him of having a hand in the whole plot.
While all this is going on, Julia's eyes fall on Todd who is now staying in her house. She loses no time in seducing him with her manifold charms. And under her evil influence, Todd breaks up with Mindy. After Mindy goes back shattered to her motel, the motel owner takes advantage of her situation and rapes her.
Meanwhile, Julia wants Todd to kill Jason. At the same time, we find out that Todd is actually the illegitimate son of Jason through Maggie. After this, as it is long overdue, Jason discovers that Todd and Julia are having an affair. Enraged, he immediately goes about changing his will, asking his lawyer to come in the next day.
As expected, Julia overhears this conversation. In the middle of the night, someone enters Jason's room, and while he's sleeping, injects poison into him.
Now, at this tense and chilling moment, the projector guy in the theater decided that he's had enough for the evening, and cuts the rest of the film out. The next scene we are treated to is that of the end credits scrolling up the screen.
The movie virtually becomes a whodunit, with the audience trying to figure out who the actual murderer is. Was it Julia, or Todd, or Micheal, or even Maggie? If you want to know the answer, and are feeling really lucky, drop in at the theater. But, do you really wanna know? I don't think so.
