Mr. Samrat Sharma has developed quite a knack of overrating English flicks. Remembering that you gave 8.5/10 for The Dark Knight, according to me the best in our generation, who in the hell gives 9/10 for Hellboy.
I've nothing against the movie, but this review made me think it to be so good that it completely ruined the movie experience.
Good storyline, simple, effective, but I like similar backend story of The Happening better, but for many, it is out of context.
The Villain seemed deadly, but not so in the end, except for showing some cool acrobatic skills.
The locations and Visuals are not as great as LOTR, but great. (Especially compared to Spiderman 3, a visualization crap)
Direction was good but screenplay was patchy if not shabby, the second half sucked. Too boring, climax ends too quickly, too predictable.
Some errors that could've been avoided - Hellboy made to think he's not given credit for all the help he's been, Prince's effort to make him realize so, the resulting green monster attack, people cursing Hellboy for all the mess he's made, and 'completely relevant to the above' pregnancy sub-plot... UNNECESSARY
Leave emotional drama to mere mortals.
I like the movie, I would've liked it more had I not kept my faith in Mr. Sharma's review.
My rating, 6.5/10
Pros: Awesome visuals, graphics, locations, good story line, script
Cons: Inadequate screenplay, boring third quarter
