Good vehicle that displays both Will Smith's and Michael Mann's respective ranges, but quite limited by the story of the character himself, which does not provide much scope for the movie to enter the genre of true epics, in the style of Raging Bull, or the first Rocky movie (which, to be fair enough, was a fictional account of an everyman that most mainstream audiences will identify with). It becomes difficult for the audience in this department, as the character does not treat women with respect, and also does not enlist when called upon, no matter what reasons he might provide, it comes off only as a selfish ploy to continue raking in the big bucks while he can, and not sacrifice that for anything else. Ultimately, fit consumption only for the arthouse circuit.

Muhammad Ali - a name that will always be remembered in the boxing world, no matter how many knockouts follow and no matter how many ears are bitten off. Ali, the movie, is a 10-year long extract from the legend's life, starting in 1964 when he won the heavyweight championship title from Sonny Liston till the "Rumble In The Jungle" organized by Don King, when he reclaims the title from George Foreman. The time during which he started off as Cassius Clay and emerged as Muhammad Ali. Unfortunately, the film doesn't do real justice to that era which saw the making of a lege....
