Just as there are two sides to a coin, so there are to personas every human - this is the crux of the story. Even if you think you've seen all that is possible of that run-of-the-mill kinda regular stuff, you must go for this newer variety dish that Bollywood has churned out. Breath-taking locales, a good script and better bodies line this film.
Here we have the cherubic, smart hero, Anil Kapoor, who, like his father, has taken to serving the nation. Then, there's his childhood friend, Madhuri Dixit. All's well between the pals when lo, enters Miss Universe Namrata Shirodkar (relax, it's only in the movie). So our hero is smitten by this new babe, and after the initial running around ends up with her. So what's new, you might ask. Well, it so happens that our story starts here.
The unruly elements start working against our hero (who in the meantime is after this terrorist, now that Namrata is taken care of) and are successful in pitting his childhood friend against him. After this, the many twists and turns in the story are bound to keep you glued to your seat.
Madhuri Dixit is impressive in the role of a girl who loses in love and is desperate to win her love back. She has you rooting for her even when she is being evil.
Anil Kapoor portrays the young major who is immensely in love with his country but is stripped of his duties and punished due to a game played by the villains. He has done well in showing the transformation of a fun-loving guy into a revenge-seeking, broken young man, who loses in love, is responsible for his family's downfall, and is utterly frustrated. Namrata is good enough for her not-so-long role. She appears detached at times.
Now who ends up with whom is left for you to find out. But then a special mention has to be made about the music. The songs are really good and are shot in tune with Nature, and the enchanting fare that you will see is sure to impress you. The pace of the movie is fine.
Get yourself some company and run along to a theater and catch this one. You will not have much to complain about.
