This movie is sure packaged and sold like an A-grade movie, but it is not worth
the reels it was shot on. The story is predictable, the performances, non-existent,
and the direction and editing are shoddy and indifferent. The suspense factor
is just about enough to keep a moron guessing.
The story: guy meets girl, in a stupid-looking college with even more stupid
characters. They fall in love; they sing a song. Feeling that is insufficient,
they sing a couple more. Then a murder takes place. An unidentified corpse turns
up. Good, you think. The suspense finally must be beginning. But the lead couple
is not to be deterred. They continue their singing and dancing with gusto.
The murderer kills two more. But the hero and the heroine are too musically inclined
to even take notice. In desperation, the murderer kills the hero's friend. The
hero does get a jolt, and starts tracing the murderer. But he sees to it that
the barrage of songs does not cease.
Comedy (?) in the midst of suspense (?), songs in the midst of murders - the
director sure got his priorities mixed up. Finally, when the murderer is caught,
all you can do to struggle out of your seat, and put as much distance as possible
between the theater and you.
