That Trivikram commands respect among the classes is a known fact. That the masses also respect him immensely is something that this reviewer realized only today. The crowd squealed when Samantha came on screen, hollered for Nitin when he strode on, but positively roared when the "Story-Direction: Trivikram" credit flashed on the screen. No wonder the theatre was packed to its gills.

Come interval, you've laughed a bit, you've enjoyed Samantha's cutesy expressions, you've seen Nitin up his subtle a few notches, and you've revelled in some great cinematography. And you're wondering yet again how the masses will take to this - or if they will take to this at all. But by the time you've walked out at the end, your doubts are fully dispelled. Everyone laughs out loud at the last line that Rao Ramesh utters, and walks out with a smug smile on their face. Mass or class - all we clearly want is a movie that will put that liberating smile on our faces.

There you go, then - A Aa will leave you with a smile on your face for sure. Trivikram the writer is in fine fettle here. The film is about Anand Vihari (Nitin), a guy who runs a small time catering business, and Anasuya Ramalingam (Samantha), the daughter of a rich entrepreneur Mahalakshmi (Nadhiya) and the owner of AnaSol (Anasuya Solutions), a software firm. Anand and Anasuya are "bava-maradallu" but have never met until the beginning of A Aa due to some family issues. Anasuya visits Anand's village for a holiday and the inevitable attraction is sparked off.

Anasuya, however, has been promised to Sekhar (Srinivas Avasarala), and Anand is to marry Nagavalli (Anupama Parameswaran), the daughter of the village zamindar Pallam Venkanna (a brilliant Rao Ramesh). How Anand's and Anasuya's families come together and the complex knot of the above relationships is resolved happily forms the rest of A Aa.

Like we mentioned earlier, Trivikram is in form here, and his razor sharp lines keep the film going. The storyline is wafer-thin really, and some of the scenes are outright silly and lack logic, but the audiences continue laughing, first in anticipation of the joke and then at the joke. While you may laugh at a few scenes, you will laugh with the characters most of the time. The songs are incidental to the film and not intrusive, and that helps, too. The action part is also settled away quickly - no unwarranted heroism and gravity-defying stunts here.

Nitin, like we mentioned earlier, is subtle and gives a fine performance. His tendency to rush with his dialogues is curtailed quite a bit, and this helps as he is given some heavy duty lines that needed some gravitas. Samantha is cute and carries off her role quite well - quite a difference from her stock expression roles in the recent past. The supporting cast fit the bill wonderfully - Rao Ramesh is getting even better with every movie, and the scenes he's in are superb. Naresh, Srinivas Reddy, Nadhiya, Ananya, Praveen and a few others are all splendid, too. The only one who gets a raw deal is Anupama Parameswaran - that she should get such an ill-conceived role for her Telugu debut is quite sad.

The film is technically sound, and you wouldn't expect any less from a Trivikram movie. If you've been ruing the lack of a proper "family" movie this summer, your prayers have been answered - take your family along for this one.

Ok, if we look at a movie like a movie, A Aa is a very entertaining one. That's all that matters. Yes, it has an extremely thin plot (yes, I know, taken from Meena) but it more than makes up for it in other aspects. The overall presentation of the film is welcoming and warm. The performances are fresh and well-executed. The cinematography and music were splendid.
Now coming to Trivikram, who apparently is a point of conflict according to all these comments. He chose to adopt a flick (presumably to be safe) after the unsatisfactory result of S/O Satyamurthy. But if you actually look at the conviction with which he made this flick, it's commendable. Yes, he tends to add too many punch dialogues, but in TFI, who can do something like him? When we have lazy directors that follow a set formula with over-the-top dialogues with bland emotionless scenes, Trivikram decides to use poetry and actual emotion to take his film forward.
The result doesn't matter but the attempt is what counts. And in all honesty, if you can stomach Sarrainodu, you can happily cherish A Aa.

P.S. Don't hate on Samantha. She is trying her level best and she's really cute tbh

Meena, Meenaa, Meenaa! Watch Vijayanirmala's Meena movie. It is the same. However, picturized hillariously. Not boring, two and half hours of entertainment. For what else we watch movies. Only for entertainment. How many people really enjoy the movie if it does not have proper story and comedy. Will anybody watch NTR's chiranjeevulu or Raghava's Maharshi. We go to theatre with family to enjoy for a couple of hours, which is stress releiving. So don't think about whether the artists have performed well or not. Everything is director's creation and execution. See SGS movie, which is a perfect example of bad interference of lead actor to the director's creativity. Go and enjoy the movie just for a weekend enjoyment. You will really do with A Aaa, although it is a remake of movie Meena.

1. I do not see major difference between Sardar and this movie in terms of story line. There it was Pawan's obsession with cowboy dress and other stupid ideas which screwed it up. Here it is Trivikram punch dialogues which work against the movie. Remember, because of so many bad movies, this is looking like a good movie. Watch it after 1-2 years, you will get bored. Entire movie is based on few punch dialogues which come and go like sharp bullets. Continuity of emotion in the scene abruptly ends because of this.

2. It is funny to see each and every actor in the movie has some punch dialogues. What this establishes is that Trivikram is trying to prove his mastery on language and forgetting the need of a strong story.

3. Samantha and Nithin have become great fools in this movie. Nithin at least acted very gently with calm composure. Samantha is too over acting and plain stupid. I beg to differ but Mangamma, the house servant, Nadhiya and Anupama are looking more beautiful. Nadhiya role is more or less exactly like Attarintiki daaredi. Director seems to have developed a liking to this lady. She is good but fixated to same routine delivery of emotions.

4. Somebody wrote before in press that Trivikram went back to his roots and wrote a family story. Forget that. If this is what his roots can deliver, then he is well on the way to become another Poori.

5. In one scene, Nadhiya comes back from Chennai to Hyderabad. They show an Airbus 380 belonging to Emirates airlines flying. So much for his direction.

6. Rao Ramesh got less movie time. Though he is becoming repetitive in dialogue delivery, content of the dialogues are good. As everybody said, his final words in the movie are quite good. Paisa vasool only for him.

7. Actually i got a good idea for Trivikram. His punch dialogues would work well with College youth festivals where normally students to lot of skits. He can focus his career on those events. He can make a good skit writer.

I actually have a lot of thoughts about your 7th point. May be people in this state...or states want only college skit kind of movies. You coat any brainless movie with comedy(that manages to make people laugh, of course) it is a hit here. No wonder Trivikram is considered a genius here.

Trivikram talks like he is a modern day sage, whose sole motive behind making movies is to educate and enlighten people. Yet his movies never emerge greater than his own self-bloated righteousness. His dialogues are too distracting for the audience to get engaged in the story. When all the characters talk like they are the masters of wit and irony(regardless of the situation...remember the scene in AD where Nadia marries a guy and comes home and Irani's dialogues are in "praasa"?), it is impossible for the viewer to see them as characters rather than vessels mouthing lines written by a writer who never lets go of his desperation to prove his wit all the time and in the process reduces the movie to nothing more than a collection of some punch dialogues.

i never expect such poor crafting of a story, with so many flaws, from Trivikram garu. Nithins role is not established fully. The writer filled the tiny details of heroine instead of main details of our hero, which is quite disturbing. All the time audience are engaged with patching the logics and at the same time laughed to the situation comedy dialogues... refreshing part is only Rao Ramesh's character only.

Samantha is nothing. Watch 'Meena' movie. Terrific performance by Vijaya Nirmala.

Very Bad Movie. Nithin is clueless. Samantha is Horrible. Plot is senseless. Direction is horrible. Who will buy a TV worth 90K for a guest who is gonna stay for a few days? Why is she welcomed to stay at hero's home? Why is she in love with the Hero? Everybody changes when the time comes(towards the end) with no reason whatever. I mean the list is endless. This movie is for those who can ignore many flaws for a few laughs (which are poor too). Twisted logic and words don't make great writing.
Dont waste your time !

Movie Review : A Aa - Trivikram Returns with a wholesome entertainer with his trademark wit and humor. A thoroughly enjoyable fare :) And thus Tollywood has been saved, for now :)

A - Allari chese Anasuya
Aa - Aameku nachhina Aanand
I - Iddari madhya Ishtam unna cheppukoleni Ibbandulu
Ee - Ee bandhanni choodaleka Eershyapade kondaru
U - Ullasamga Urakalestu
Oo - Oopirike Oopiripose PalletOori andalu
E - Ellappudu navvinche sannivesalu
Ee - Ee kashtamochhina
Ai - Aiswaryam kante AIkamatyame minna ani chebutu
O - Okariki Okarunte kashtalu raavu ani
Oo - Oo kutumbam aalasyamga aina telusukoni
Ou - Oudaryam to
Am - Andariki cheppinademanaga
Aha - Ahankaaram koodadu

Wit, humor and situational comedy rule this film. Hats off to Trivikram! Special mention to all the punch dialogues by Rao Ramesh, Sreenivasa Reddy and Shakalaka Shankar. Samantha had a very good role after a long time.

A few drawbacks that I have to mention are, placement of songs at times and the topic of suicide taken very lightly. Though they never stopped me from having fun, a bit more sensitivity would have been good.

But overall, a complete entertainer. it gets a bit sentimental towards the end but watch out for Rao Ramesh's dialogues at the very end.

Just go I say!!
