This movie is the ultimate combination of martial arts and special fx, with
mind-blowing fights and stunts along with superior robot fx. Small problem though:
apart from the fights and fx, there is virtually nothing in the movie. But the
audience response indicated that the techno feast was more than satisfactory.
The villain of the movie is modelled after Dr No, but in a very modern and techno
way. Yamamato is a techno scientist who has learned to amalgamate human intelligence
into androids. Artificial Intelligence gone awry - remember Terminator 2? There
is carnage as his robots go on a rampage in Hong-Kong, especially in the red
light area. In the midst of this confusion, there is the son of a sheikh, kidnapped
by the doctor.
Time for the good guys to make their entry. Techno expert, Dr Sarah, walks in,
and there's a cop to assist her. And there's chemistry - how unpredictable!
Amidst all this, the chase goes on and on and on, with chases in cars and planes
and all sorts of modes of transport. A lot of costly machinery is gutted in
some spectacular explosions that punctuate the movie at regular intervals.
You like techno jargon, martial arts, and don't really mind clichés as
long as they do not get on your nerves, this movie is definitely for you. All
those looking for a pinch of sense in the movies though, please keep away. This
is definitely one of those leave-the-brains-back-home movies.
